Email or Forum Format Opinions

Hello all, I would like to add comments to this discussion.  I read
the MMD and appreciate it in whatever capacity.  That being said, my
constructive criticism, that is, I intend it to be a helpful addition
and not negative, is this.

I am 29 years old and have grown up with computers starting with
Windows 95.  For me the main problem with the current format is dead
end threads.  Specifically, when someone asks a question, there may or
may not be a response.

This seems to be caused not by lack of participation, but because some
reply to the individual, and not to the whole MMD.  Also, if there is
a group wide reply, it might not be easily found in the link to the
original post in the archives or otherwise.  I like the forum format
simply because I can view an entire conversation together, and respond
inline with or without quotation.

Now, to the ones who prefer the daily MMDigest via email, I would think
that could still be done, possibly even easier for the moderator-editor.
I am a member on Piano World forum and I can subscribe to a particular
thread, though I'm not sure about a forum-wide subscription.  I believe
that if it's feasible to have both formats available, it would help
keep the MMD active.  Furthermore, I would be happy to help moderate
a forum if there is a place for me.
