FS: 1924 Knabe Player Piano in New York City
By Lynn Jawitz

Hi, I have to move and relocate an upright ebonized mahogany
1924 Knabe player piano in Manhattan. It came with the 1892 house.
While all the mechanicals are there, all the tubing is old, cracked
or missing and needs to be replaced. I do believe that there may be
a cloth electrical cord within. Knabe was the practice instrument of
the Metropolitan Opera, and I was told that the piano has the wear of
being used by a first year Julliard student, so it is relatively
pristine.

I need help with trying to save the instrument; can you suggest an
excellent piano mover, and/or someone who will try to take on the
project as an act of love and preservation? I do not want to see it
hacked up for garbage, and carted away. I am not looking for money,
but only for an assurance that the piano will be restored. Time is
of the essence. Can you help me with this project?

Thank you so much,

Lynn Jawitz
