Repairing Book Music
By Wallace Venable

Bob Oppenheim asked about repairing book music. The COAA (Carousel
Organ Association of America - www.COAA.US) has published several
articles on the subject which are now online.

There is a general discussion of the work in

http://www.coaa.us/index_archive/Issues_41_to_50/The%20Repair%20of%20Organ%20Books_Ren%C3%A9%20Cauche__43%20mechanical.pdf

The Keislers described a large book restoration project they did in

http://www.coaa.us/index_archive/Issues_31_to_40/Music%20of%20the%20Myrtle%20Beach%20Ruth,%20Ron%20Keisler,%20_34.pdf

Ron Bopp did an article on making blank books. See

http://www.coaa.us/index_archive/Issues_21_to_30/An_Update_on_Bookmaking-Cardboard_Organ_Book_Construction_Ron%20Bopp__23.pdf

Of course if you are going to do a lot of book repair, you need
a punch. See:

http://www.coaa.us/index_archive/Issues_21_to_30/The%20Haughawout%20Book-Punching%20Machine_Terry%20Haughawout_%20_23.pdf

As to stained glass in coin-op pianos, it drew attention to the machine
that you could "put another nickel in." Very few "juke boxes" had plain
walnut cabinets, either.
