Welte-Mignon Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
By John McClelland

Greetings all, In response to Jack Conway's inquiry about the Liszt
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 [160805 MMDigest], at various times during the
firms existence Welte issued it played by three artists:

  (1) roll 78, played by Eugenie Adam-Benard,
  (2) roll 757, played by Yolanda Mero, and
  (3) roll 6668, played by Richard Singer.

Somewhere I have e-rolls of all three but I could locate only number 757.
I vaguely remember the other two but I listened to the Mero rendition and
was impressed all over again! She may play it a little faster than the
others but she certainly has command of the dynamics and the attacks.

My suggestion, Jack, is to see if you can find a copy of Yolanda Mero's
interpretation; it is a beautiful, dynamic piece. If your friend has
an e-roll player, I'd be happy to share the roll file.

Cheers,

John McClelland
