FS: Player Pianos & Vorsetzer in California
By Spencer Chase

I am likely to be selling my second home in the near future and
I have a few instruments that will be excess to my needs. The
instruments are a little unusual so I am willing to be accommodating.

(1) One is a custom Welte Licensee Vorsetzer that was largely built
by Jim Miller. I finished the case work and added an E-Roll Player
as well as many other features. It is located in Orinda, California.

(2) Second is an upright Steinway Duo-Art. It was completely restored
pneumatically, maybe 15 years ago. I have not played it in years but
I can get it working to demonstrate if there is interest. It also has
an E-Roll Player but this can be removed to reduce the cost if someone
does not like electronic stuff.

(3) Third is a 5'4" Chickering that used to be an Ampico B. The guts
were transplanted to another Ampico and I installed an LX Player system.
The piano could use refinishing to the case and would like new premium
hammers although the current ones are not bad. It was restrung a few
years ago with some fancy custom strings, the brand of which I forget
right now but can find.

The LX player in the Chickering is quite valuable and desirable so
I am most likely to remove it and sell it separately, with or without
installation, or just keep it for my dream piano when I find it. Of
course I will sell the piano complete but I think there are better uses
for this very fine player system. It is no longer possible to buy them
other than by buying a Steinway since they bought the rights to
manufacture the LX player system.
