Important Randolph Herr collection estate sale update

A well-known collector/dealer/restorer called me today to say
that he'd negotiated a deal with the executor on many of the items
from the Randolph Herr collection.  But, when the movers arrived to
load the instruments, it was discovered that they were in much worse
condition than was indicated in the photos that the executor supplied,
so the deal was called off.

Because I forwarded these photos to several interested parties,
including from overseas, I feel obligated to tell anyone still
interested to please have a qualified expert look the items over,
in person, before arriving at any agreement.  (I never saw them, in
person: I was merely contacted by Randolph's heir on the basis of
emails found in his files.)
