This afternoon I tuned my player piano as close to normal pitch as
possible.  The liveliness of that piano went from "halfway" to "very"
lively.  It sounds so much better and prettier now.  I don't believe
it had ever been tuned to the pitch I tuned it to this afternoon
since 1946.  That was the last time it had been professionally tuned,
and by some unknown individual.

If your player is sounding dull, dead, or downright slow, just tune
it or have it tuned again.  You will be very glad you did.

I do have a question which maybe someone can clear up.  The first
tuning date on the piano, in 1928, was by a Mr. C. F. Bath.  The
previous owners of the piano lived (or live) somewhere around
Whitewater, Kansas, and I'm guessing this Mr. Bath was a tuner (or
perhaps also a player technician) that lived in or near Whitewater
as well.  If anyone could enlighten me on the history of this piano
prior to 2012, feel free to email me.
