Hello All,  I've been 'away' from here for a while, but I haven't
been doing nothing, however.  My Duo-Art is playing reasonably well
(I need to change the springs as it is too loud for my small living
room) and my Triphonola is nearly done; I'm in the troubleshooting
phase.

My latest acquisition is a Hupfeld Phonoliszt expression piano.
Currently the piano action is being rebuilt by a friend.  After I
finish the Triphonola the Phonoliszt will be rebuilt; it is in very
good original condition, though missing its motor.

Rolls for the Phonoliszt are hard to find.  I managed to get 30,
but not many are hand-played rolls.  I therefore want to put a MIDI
system in (without changing anything that can't be undone).  I would
like a small file player inside that would ideally start playing a
random tune when a coin is inserted in the coin box.  This would
require some form of input to the computer/player.

Alternatively, when turning on the MIDI system I'd like the piano to
start automatically, which could be achieved easily by connecting
a solenoid to the start circuit on the piano and supplying the MIDI
file player with an on-command.

I'd like to know what the (reasonably priced) options for MIDI systems
are.  I have room on the left of the spoolbox to insert 77 electric
valves (72 playing notes and 5 expression commands) that would tee into
the existing junction block to the stack.  I'd need 78 commands in total:
77 to simulate the roll and one to start the piano.  Any help or tips
appreciated.
