Musical Box Paper Strip Movements
By Jens Behrje

As far as I can see, Nidec Sankyo today offers only its 20-note
diatonic movement, but their (out of production?) 33-note chromatic
movement can still be ordered from leturlutain.fr and spieluhr.de,
unfortunately at a price I couldn't afford. ;-)

All the other paper strip movements, may it be 18-note or the
semi-chromatic 30-note, that are offered here and there for very
differing prices, seem to me to be made by Ningbo Yunsheng in China.
There are quite a few channels; they are distributed to Europe and
the U.S. via Amazon and eBay.

I first purchased a hand-cranked 30-note from Amazon.de marketplace
at a cost of 38 euros, which sounds quite well, and then I bought a
second one, electrically driven, through ebay.de for about 29 euros,
which doesn't seem to be worse!

So, if you are interested in this kind of movement, be aware of what
you pay! -)

Best regards,
Jens Behrje
