David Dewey Helps Rescue Oroville Theatre Organ
By David Dewey

Well, I'm glad you posted that -- no one told me I was in the paper!
Too bad they can't get the story straight; we were taking the stored
organ from it's storage building down by the Feather River levee
(the first place that would be flooded) to the upstairs area at the
theatre and to a storage facility above the dam. Not really what
I wanted to do these past two days, but many of us don't believe the
crisis is over yet. Lots of rains are still to come.

We got all of the organ to high ground except the bottom octaves of two
ranks and the swell shutters. One small set of shutters (that we likely
weren't going to use anyway) was eaten up by termites while in storage!
The termites started in on one pipe case too, but didn't get very far
on it.

I'd send pictures, but today my email outbox crashes with even as
little as an 80 kb photo file.
