Dispersing Randolph Herr Collection
By Vincent Morgan

My wife and I live close to Randolph Herr's house. He was a good
friend. So, after he passed I made arrangements with his brother
to help assess the collection. I helped him make a lot of money.
I am still waiting for a thank you. He talked Terry Smythe and Glenn
Thomas into running a full-page ad in the AMICA Bulletin in exchange
for two large boxes of original documents. Not one promise to me by
Michael Herr was ever kept. When I was there I found an original
shipping log from QRS, which I turned over to Terry, but nothing else.

When I was in the house the grand pianos were on their sides with the
legs removed, ready to be shipped. The upright Steinway in art case
was in good shape as far as I could tell. There were also tons of
cash registers, antique light fixtures, two 1930's G.E. refrigerators
in working condition and a 1924 gas stove in near mint condition.
There were also stained glass windows stacked up and more, much more.
I am still waiting on the boxes of original material promised to Glenn,
Terry and me -- if they ever existed.
