Who Built "Wurlitzer" Pianos?
By Dave Krall

Just curious; who cast the upright plates for Wurlitzer? Did they have
their own foundry? (And how many piano companies had their own foundry?
I know Kimball did.) For the duration of their construction of upright
coin pianos and orchestrions, was there just the one scale of plate
(marked "New Acoustic Scale")?

Thanks
Dave Krall

[ I believe the rugged coin-op pianos marked "Wurlitzer" were all
[ manufactured in DeKalb, Illinois, first by Melville Clark Piano Co.
[ and after 1919 by Wurlitzer. -- Robbie
