The Joys (?) Of Silicone (?) Adhesive
By Alan Fox

Skip Downing wrote about encountering a silicone-like material during
his restoration project. That problematic substance is most likely
called "Lexel", which is a clear synthetic rubber elastomeric sealant
used as an alternative to silicone caulk for its clarity, adhesion,
elasticity and paintability. It's been around for years.
