Duo-Art Fan-Accordion System
By Bruce Grimes

One note regarding the bit of the recording from my Steinway
on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b486I4xbbQ

The piano playing is a 1910 Steinway "B" which we lengthened and
inlayed over 40 years ago. We built it to be a pedal electric. The
long keyboard was built by David Snyder of Robesonia, Pennsylvania.

Our Steinway "D" had been shortened by a pastor but his technician
was not up to the task -- it's just not nice to take a hand saw to
a Steinway! The result was a botch-up that allowed us poetic license
to re-lengthen and install a long-play top action Duo-Art system.

David Snyder, Snyder's Piano Service, installed a long-play top
action, the fan system expression unit, and a foot-pedal system.
You just can't have strings that long and not be able to pedal rolls
on it! We also re-veneered it; see "Projects" at David's web site,
http://snyderspianoservice.com/

To my knowledge, these are the only two pianos lengthened since the
factory closed down. If you can do the player work, David can work
miracles with your piano. His e-mail address is
