Ampico Rewind Problem
By Eliyahu Shahar

When the roll plays in rewind, I call it "decomposing."

[ And Mark Kinsler wrote in to comment that, when the keys continued

[ playing the song backwards, at high speed of course ... "a new era

  [ in music began."

[ Such comedians in the MMD!

The Ampico pump cutout valve is evidently located forward and due center

of the pump. That would be the first place I would check. It goes into

the pump; so hopefully the cutout in the pump itself isn't the problem.

The next place I would check is the drawer. The input to the rewind

silence is a tube coming from the bottom of the transmission. It is

covered when it is in play and open when it's in rewind. That connects

to the reroll cutout valve and should be front and center in the right

side of the drawer.

The output goes through a tube underneath the drawer and is connected to

the governor and a T connection to the reroll primary valve box.

Good luck!
