Band Organ At The Oaks Amusement Park, Portland
By Kyle Nasman

Mike, There were two band organs located at Oaks Park in Portland,
Oregon. One was indeed a Wurlitzer 146 and the other an Artizan 46-key
with dual roll frames. To my knowledge both are still unrestored and
located in the Portland area. I have seen both machines within the
last year. The Herschell-Spillman carousel only ever had the two organs
as far as I know. Both machines retain their façades, to my knowledge.

Oaks Park is located along the Willamette River in an area that floods
and most everything from the park has sustained major water damage at
some point in time. Interestingly, the skating rink located there is
built on top of metal drums so that in the event of a flood the rink
floats. Also located in the skating rink (and still in use) is a
Wurlitzer pipe organ.

Hope this helps.
