Hi,  In response to Craig Smith's message [190311 MMDigest], 
I have a script that can convert from MIDI to .dxf so I can use 
a laser cutter to produce the paper strip (well, it's polypropylene
actually).  I have used it to make an arrangement of "Stairway to 
Heaven" that plays for 8 minutes (10 meters).  Maybe I can help.
