The Musical Box Society of Great Britain, along with 'sister' society,
Musical Box Society International, is proud to announce the publication
of the English version of Dr. Helmut Kowar's book on Austrian musical
boxes, "Musical Boxes from Prague and Vienna".

Publication of this was facilitated by the involvement of both
organisations, acting on the initiative of MBSGB member Mark Singleton.
Following the book's original 2017 publication in German, Mark was of
the view that an English version would make it more accessible to the
wider readership it deserved.  Discussions with the publisher, the
Austrian Academy of Sciences, led to MBSI and MBSGB together agreeing
to fund equally the full cost of production (effectively the printing
costs), whilst the Academy was able to draw on other resources to fund
the actual translation.

This new version is fully revised and expanded with additional
historical and biographical details, and features hitherto unpublished
material on a number of movements which have come to light since 2017.
MBSGB is grateful to MBSI for sharing the challenge of bringing this
project to fruition.
