Market Value of Reproducing Pianos
By Ed Chaban

[ Ref. Bill Losch in 190601 MMDigest ]

While I don't have a good hard value for Bill Losch of a 1928 Mason
Hamlin RA Ampico (or other reproducing pianos), I can only point to an
obvious source: eBay.

At least once every two weeks I do some searching. I've seen _a lot_
of shorter length reproducing pianos, with brand names like Weber, Knabe
and the occasional Mason and Hamlin, listed for a few thousand dollars.
What's depressing is that some of these specimens seem to be in decent
working condition! Often they go unsold or the deal is done behind the
scenes.

Likewise I've perused some of the auction house sites. Again, a few
thousand dollars for smaller pianos in working condition. It's a little
depressing. Here's an example of one I'd grab in a second if I had
room in the house: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163090059915
