Hi All,  After receiving samples of the thin cloth that's offered by
Herzog in Germany, I ran a simple test to see how well it would hold to
wood when using hide glue.  I was told by a representative at Herzog
that the folks who use the cloth in organs usually use hide glue.

The cloth I tested was their 0.0065" thin cloth, which is synthetic
cloth on one side and rubber on the other.  As a comparison, I also
tested the glue bond using the old traditional cotton-rubber cloth
that was available for decades.  I uploaded the results of the tests

While this was by no means a 'scientific' test, I think it showed
pretty conclusively that the glue joint with the synthetic cloth was
at least as good, if not slightly better than the joint with the
cotton cloth.  In both cases, the cloth side (not the rubber side)
was glued to the wood.

I ran six tests in all, but these two are the only ones worth
reporting.  However, based on these findings, I plan to run another
test using the synthetic cloth that's available here in the USA.
