Considering that membership participation in mechanical music
organizations continues to decline, and the push to attract new
and younger members has been talked about (ad nauseam) for a very
long time without any material success, then why not consider
publishing via an eBook?

If the goal is to disseminate this information to a broader
audience with hopes of increasing participation, this seems like
a perfectly logical choice.  However, if your goal is for existing
members to purchase the book, your target audience is exceptionally
small and by default, mathematically destined to fail.
