Seeburg Silver Gray Finish
By Daryl Smith

A couple of questions about the silver-gray stain originally used
on Seeburg KT nickelodeons. Was this the only color KTs originally
came in? That's the only color mentioned in Bowers' Encyclopedia,
but didn't know if other colors may have been special ordered.

Seems like most KTs have been refinished with various golden oak
stains, but I always assumed that was because people today prefer
that color, plus silver is harder to duplicate.

My second question is, does anyone know the process for duplicating
a silver-gray stain finish on oak?
