Value of Mills Violano
By Jim Quashnock

[ Ref. Allen Scott in 191027 MMDigest ]

These instruments have taken a hit in value, like everything else.
A year ago, at the Stanton auction, a Violano in perfect condition,
restored by Terry Haughawout, sold for about $14,000. At the next
auction, an early style model in "kind of working" condition sold
for about $9000.

A totally disassembled instrument missing parts was sold for just
a couple thousand about two years ago. I picked up an unrestored
one with all parts but partially disassembled for about $11,000 about
three years ago in a private sale, which came with around 25 rolls.

Hopefully others have some figures they can share with us all.
I believe that the Kitner book sells for a few hundred dollars.
