Value of Hardman Peck "Duo/Art" Player Piano
By David Dewey

[ Ref. Ross Schacher in 200309 MMDigest ]

Ross asked about a "free" piano with the modern Standard action.
Usually the hoses are fine in these, but the valve units, with plastic
valves and man-made, usually "foam" plastic facings, are problematic.

With the large number of other pianos with better players available
(at least around here), I would wait. The piano itself isn't a great
one, with wide variances in quality control (one piano can be rather
good, the next one off the line can be horrid).

Right now I have a Winters with the same player, in working condition,
and I can't seem to give it away -- and I just was given a Pianola
(a 66-note min-player piano) in working condition (with about 50 rolls)
so now I have two such animals to unload!

The rolls that come with the piano might be interesting -- or not!
