Symphonion Musical Clock Movement Linkage
By Matthew Caulfield

Beginning on page 216, Q. David Bowers' "Encyclopedia of Automatic
Musical Instruments" pictures and describes several models of
Symphonion's musical clocks, and they all mention that the musical
disc part of the clock can be set to play after the clock strikes,
according to the owner's wishes, and that it can also be played
independently of the clock.

But none of the accompanying texts explain how the linkage between
The clock-striking mechanism and the disc player operates or how it
is set. But clearly there must be some connection between whatever
causes the clock to strike and whatever starts the disc's turning.
