Monopol Music Box Repair
By Rod Cornelius

I am trying to repair a Monopol disc box. It uses 30 cm discs and
is center-driven.

This Monopol has had a part removed from the motor: the stop rod.
The stop rod originally came through the left-hand side of the case
and went through the casting on the side handle. There should be a
small bracket attached to the bedplate which this rod goes through.

There also must be a pawl or something to hold the spring when it is
wound up. Because when I turn the handle, the whole lot turns, and
so it won't lock off.

The motor works okay, but I can't hold the power in the spring.
A holding spring is missing from the small pawl that clicks across the
spring barrel ratchet when winding up. But I think there is something
else missing.

If anyone has one of these boxes or a Monopol using a slightly larger
disc (it would be the same, I would think), could you please contact me
at rodcorn2@gmail.com.geentroep [delete ".geentroep" when replying].
