I don't do much player work anymore but I am endeavoring to restore
a really botched wind motor 'rebuild'. Everything is put together with
hot melt craft glue.

My question is the width of the cloth. When connected, the cam opens
the board to 2" (OD). The 'rebuild' has the cloth width at 3.25".

Should the cloth width be "plus one-quarter inch" as for small
pneumatics or "plus one-half inch" (25 percent) wider than the
operational opening?
