Removing Key Frame From Early Chickering Ampico
By Steve Bentley

[ Ref. Kermit Hobbs in 210103 MMD ]

I have removed key frames from two grand pianos -- not too
difficult, other than do it slowly -- and one important thing:
do not touch the keys, as it will raise a hammer or two and
tear them off or break them.

On another event, I replaced all the hammers on one piano
I bought. Doyle Lane obtained them for me; they were made
in Germany. I eventually made this piano into a nickelodeon,
adding all the instruments that an "O" roll uses.

The only "down" side to this is that this Instrument is at my
son's place 30 miles away, as I cannot accommodate it where
I live. He is not a musical fan at all.
