I was given a Sega "Grand Pianist", too, by a very dear friend. I never
had an English manual, though I had some software to generate the
special files to play the piano from  MIDI files. I lost the software,
unfortunately, but I never got it to work as that, too, was in Japanese.

If anybody would be willing to send me the English manual and software
it would be very much appreciated. I hope I can someday play my own
arrangements on the Sega Grand Pianist.

When people ask how many pianos I have I tell them, "three uprights and
a grand," and they always have a hard time spotting the grand piano!
