"When I Was The Dandy And You Were The Belle"
By Ed Sprankle

Hi MMD readers! I'm pretty sure that the song Tom Baker is seeking is:
"When I Was The Dandy and You Were The Belle." The authors are Harry
Ruby, Lou Handman and Dave Dreyer. It was copyrighted and (probably)
published in 1924 by Irving Berlin, Inc. I have it on Vocalstyle roll
13038 and what makes it even nicer is that it's played by Clarence
Jones, one of my piano heroes.

The verses quoted by Tom don't appear on the roll until the part that
starts: "... When I Was The Dandy and You Were The Belle ..."

Tom, if you like, send me your address and I'll send you a
transcription of the words on the roll.

Ed Sprankle
