Knapp Barrel Organ Works Made Carousels
By Mike Knapp

New insight to the long ghosts of the past: the Knapp Barrel Organ
Works of Philadelphia and New York -- yes, New York, too!

Frederick Fried wrote that my family built organs for only a short
time. That was really a misprint, yes, a misprint. My family supplied
Charles Looff with organs for a long time, as well as others. After
going to Philadelphia we have been given the paper work to prove that
Mr. Freid's statement in his book was a misprint.

We have found that my family also built six carousels. One caught fire
and information about what happened to the others is being gathered.

You will have to excuse me, I've been recuperating from heart failure
for a long time, and it is good to be back on my feet a little.
