Tubing Connections on Ampico Transmission Frame

Hi All,  At the risk of sounding ignorant, I'm curious to know why
there are two tubing connections on the Ampico transmission frame.
I've never seen an Ampico (or an Amphion) that used both connections,
and wonder why the second one is there.  Does anyone know?
