Paper Gaskets Under Pneumatics
By Bruce Clark

Regarding paper gaskets under pneumatics, I am not so sure
I would recommend that. Not long ago, I assisted a friend to
obtain a fully restored Ampico. Everything appeared to be very
well restored. After a few days, pneumatics began to separate from
the stack. Someone had carefully made paper gaskets.

I had to remove the stack, remove the remains of the paper gaskets
and re-glue the pneumatics in place without the gaskets. Perhaps the
problem was the type and thickness of the gaskets? I am now retired
from the restoration business, but I enjoy helping others with
problems.
