Teleconferencing: MMD Chat Room
By Robbie Rhodes

In Digest 970717 John Tuttle wrote about teleconferencing via the
Internet using telnet protocol, and Jody Kravitz expressed interest
in creating a teleconference "chat session" as an adjunct to MMD.

It sounds like a lot of fun. But what time of the day/night should we
meet? For example:

USA Pacific ; USA Eastern ; England ; Middle Europe ; Tasmania
  UT-7 UT-4 UT+1 UT+2 UT+8 ?

  0600 0900 1300 1400 2200 ?

Jody said that he would like to try the "chat room" using the modern web
browsers (Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Explorer, etc.) which are readily
available.

We've heard from John Tuttle and Sam Harris already, and we'd like to
hear from other adventuresome MMDers who would like to join the
experiment. Please state:

1. Your name and location: city, state, country etc.
2. The name of your local time zone, and the offset from UK time or
US Eastern Time if you know it.
3. The time of day you prefer for the chat room session.
4. Your web browser and version number, and your computer operating
system (e.g., Win 3.1, Mac Sys 7, etc.)

I hope we can find a method which will allow images (simple drawings,
etc.) to be inserted in the chat, and also sound files of some sort.
