Lecoultre Freres of Geneva
By Vickie Davis

Just how many Lecoultre Freres are there? Is Freres
first or last name? Still trying to date a 6-aire keywound LFgve
stamped comb with tune sheet from BB&Cie LF initials bedplate marked
with the "dog as consistent with Francois and David Lecoultre."

Keywound is not consistant with Lecoultre freres; is it possible that
while Francois or David Lecoultre worked for Lecoultre Freres up until
late 1840's that their boxes were labeled with Lecoultre Freres parts
and other parts bore their trademark? Or does anyone know how to find
out how many Lecoultre boxes had the tune "Buffalo Gals" and possibly
through what manufacturing date? I am obsessed with this one.

Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out VMG stamp on bedplate of 3"x2"
composite tortoise shell cover two-tune snuff box with two swans
facing each other in carriages on lid black composite.

Thanks
Vickie Davis
