Calculations for Xylophone Bars
By Gerald Wood

In article in 980321 MMDigest, 'Calculations for Xylophone Bars',
by Jack Breen, http://www.mmdigest.com/Gallery/Tech/breen_xylo.html
the drawing provided in the spreadsheet breen_xyloph3.xls for the
xylophone bar dimensions shows the length of the full-depth parts
at each end of the bar as 1+(0.2242*L) where L is the overall length
of the bar.

This is at variance with the table showing calculated lengths and
I believe that the formula for calculation of the full depth lengths
should be 0.5+(0.2242*L) which when twice this value is deducted from
the overall length gives the correct length of the half-depth middle
section.

There will still be a need for fine tuning but hopefully not as much!
