Estey Reed Organs
By Bob Ebert

Dan Copeland asked how common two-manual and pedal Estey Reed organs
are. We have a ten rank (10 sets of reeds) 1903 model, Style T-58
(see pages 104 and 105 in Robert Whiting's book, "Estey Reed Organs on
Parade" available from Vestal Press). Ours does not have the pipe
display, which was an option.

They are reasonably common (but no where near as prevalent as the parlor
organs). Often Estey two manual and pedal instruments are for sale in
The American Organist and Diapason.

I do have a question regarding them:were any of these made with player
mechanisms? Could a player mechanism be adapted to one?
