A while back there was a thread on MMD member demographics.  I'd like to
suggest that we run the same idea on MMI's.  If members submitted information
not only about their own instruments, but any others they know of, we might
come up with a valuable resource.  We could find out about the relative
scarcity of different types of instruments, how many restored vs. unrestored
instruments are out there, price ranges, etc.  Categories of info collected
could include type of instrument, brand name, date of manufacture, price
paid, and more.  MMD'ers can add to this list as they see fit.

I'm not volunteering to organize this; I'm short of time and not a
bean-counter type, but just wanted to put the idea forth to see if anyone
else would like to pick it up and run with it.
