Gulbransen "Fish-pole" Tracker
By Peter Coggins

The only player I have had which really ate rolls was the Gulbransen.
This chewed up rolls if the tracker was not set right and then was fine
until the string wore out. The only way you could tell it was broken was
when suddenly the roll started to shred. Bit too late then. Also, it
being automatic rewind (electric Recordo), occasionally the roll would
jump up when the direction changed and the tracker ear would go under
the paper. Disaster usually followed.

The two players I have now, Amphion and Aeolian, seem to be very kind
on rolls but of course both have the rewind tension disabled. I cannot
remember shredding a roll on either of these and they play many rolls
each day.
