New Organ Collection in the Netherlands
By Hans van Oost

On May 16th in De Wijk near Meppel a new collection of organs was opened
to the public. This collection consists of the street organs and
fairground organs of the organ-builder and restorer Henk Veeningen.

The collection can be visited in the months of June, July and August,
on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, between 14.00 and 17.00.

89 key Gavioli G3- organ "de Phoenix";
92 key Daneels-organ "Klinkhamer";
92 keyless Veeningen-organ "de Luchtensteiner";
52 key Gasparini band organ;
57 key Gavioli band organ "de Adelaar";
50 keyless Wellershaus fair organ;
56 key Limonaire street organ "de Engelekast"

All these organs were in a very derelict state when Mr. Veeningen acquired
them. He has restored them to their original condition durung the past
25 years. To show the difference, some unrestored organs can be seen as
well.

Access for groups is possible on other hours and days, except on
Sundays. Please call the owner to make an appointment.
