Installing Rubber Tubing on Tracker Bar
By Don Teach

Do not use silicone on a player piano anywhere. That stuff creeps,
crawls, and just plain walks where it does not belong. I have never
had any problems with the right size tubing. Sometimes I have been
unable to obtain the right size hose, but I use shellac to put the
hose on with and it helps it slip into place.

I believe silicone is the worse product to ever come near a piano, al-
though I know it is recommended by many technicians and manufacturers.
How did the original manufacturers do such a great job without silicone?
