FS: Davrainville Barrel Organ
By Chantal Reynolds, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

I am writing this email on behalf of my father, who has been a fanati-
cal collector of mechanical musical instruments since his very early
ages and is now his early sixties and is still going strong with his
passion and love for these instruments.

He has recently decided to sell a very loved and precious barrel organ
which we know is a rare piece indeed and would very much like to see
it go to a home that will enjoy it as much as our family have.

It is a Bureau Organ built by A Davrainville in Paris 1849 and is
No. 875. It comes complete with the original eight wood pin
cylinders, spirally pinned, with fusee movement and 32 wood pipes.

This organ is in original condition, with the bellows having been
recovered some 20 years ago. The playing condition is excellent, but
in the near future, it would probably need the clockwork motor cleaned
to ensure many more hundreds of years of playing.

Do you have any suggestions of how I should advertise this beautiful
hand carved piece with original marble top which, I am sure you will
agree, is going to be a very rare opportunity for collectors to be
treated with. I can gladly provide you with photos if necessary and
would also appreciate your comments with regards to a sensible asking
price.

Many thanks
Chantal Reynolds
