One of the very special things Scott did for me was to post my pleas
for assistance and information to Mechanical Music Digest.  You can't
imagine how helpful it was for this ol' horse painter to have people
out there who were willing to help, educate and advise me on our Ruth
organ.  The research material supplied by Hans Van Oost was a special
godsend.  The response always amazed me, as I received e-mails from all
over the world.

Of course, Scott knew I was a softie when it came to the band organ.
The day that he and Gavin McDonough were able to revive its "heart"
long enough for it to play just a few tunes in July l995 [before its
restoration] had me crying as I rode the carousel.  For me, the magic
of the carousel was the horses _and_ the music.
