Bob,  I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you going
_way_ beyond what is casually expected!  It would have been almost
impossible to get this info.  You did something others may not have
done.  Thanks a bunch.

I looked in all the places I was informed to look and nothing!  There
is no number on the plate, on the key frame, under the key frame, on
the lyre, on the legs, on the case under the bass end of the pin block,
on any of the hammer's or shanks.  Now through your generosity I have
the number.  Yes the case is in walnut!

I have about 20 new pictures that I will be placing at the Steinway
picture page in the next few day's.  I'll send a post to the MMD when
they are up.
