Cleaning Mold and Mildew in Piano
By Paul Tramm

I have recently acquired a player piano that has a tremendous amount
of mold and mildew on the player and piano actions, on the wooden
surface of the keys, the bridges, the keybed, cloth-wrapped tubing,
the soundboard, and the interior of the piano cabinet.

The mold and mildew has been eating away at metal components, such
as the jack springs, which I will be forced to change quite a few of.
I have been trying to clean these parts by vacuuming and rubbing
with steel wool. Are there any better suggestions out there? Perhaps
a chemical?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
