Although this is not really music related, Joe Teagarden (on the
subject of filling cast iron surfaces) stated that he has filled,
sanded, smoothed, and painted antique auto chassis parts on prize
winning restorations.

I used to be a judge for the Model A Ford Club of America and the
Early Ford V8 Club of America.  This type of work got point reductions
(penalty) for "Over restoration".
