Seek Christmas Rolls for Welte Licensee
By Jonathan Holmes

I wonder if any member can help me. I am the Curator in charge of the
collections and exhibitions in a large public Museum in the Cornwall
in the UK, and for Christmas this year we are staging a exhibition
looking back at how Christmas was celebrated in years gone by. The
exhibition starts in with the Reign of Queen Victoria and will finish
in the 1940's & 1950's.

One exhibition hall will have items to do with entertainment in the
home: phonographs, gramophones, radio, TV and mechanical music. I am
loaning items from my own collection as are other collectors. I will
be loaning my recently restored Welte Licensee upright. Although I
have many 88-note Christmas titles, I have no Christmas Welte Licensee
rolls. What I am looking for is a few Christmas carols or preferably
something lighter. Did they issue Christmas popular tunes and medley
rolls, as I know Ampico and Duo Art did?

I know it's a long time until Christmas but I thought it prudent to
search now. Whether the rolls are recuts or originals in good order,
it does not matter. I prefer to buy as these rolls will be played
every day for a month, obviously not all the time.

Any help also where I might be able to source some or even one would
be appreciated. I can't see any listed by any of the people offering
recuts, or do you know something that I don't?
