Mennonite Heritage Museum in Goessel, Kansas
By Joyce Brite

Goessel, Kansas, is home to the Mennonite Heritage Museum which has
some music and mechanical music items: two roller organs, four pump
organs, Hinze upright piano, three 1880's accordions, Edison disc
player with stainless steel or aluminum horn, an autoharp, and
a Ukelin. A photo image is at

An upcoming event that may be of interest to MMD'ers is Threshing
Days in Goessel, Kansas on August 3, 4, and 5. "More than 100
exhibitors from a 7-state area [will] display and demonstrate antique
equipment related to farming during the past century." Steam engines
will be included in the demonstrations so here is an opportunity for
steam power enthusiasts to see these machines in action.

More information about Threshing Days and the Mennonite Heritage Museum
