Insects in Player Pianos
By John Dewey

A couple of years ago I talked to a fellow who was involved with
getting used pianos to Cuba. He mentioned that they have a bad termite
problem there. He knew of one piano that had been stored in a tobacco
barn for a couple of years and that after being out for several years
it didn't have any sign of termites. He hoped to do some follow up on
this if he ever got the time. I found it interesting. Would a piano
that spent it's life in a smoke-filled bar be less likely to have
termites?
