Dear members,  Having three sons who are excellent pianists I have
always had an interest in the instrument but it was last year before
I saw my first operating reproducing piano, in Germany.  Absolutely
fascinated, I bought it -- a Hupfeld Animatic Clavitist!

The bad news is that, though perfectly restored, and having a
'mandoline effect' it doesn't have the drums, etc., which it might
have had originally and, worse still, here in the UK I cannot find
the Animatic-S rolls it needs.  Even worse, it doesn't reproduce the
classical music as well as a Triphonola, Welte Red Steinway grand,
or a Duo-Art Steinway grand (I am now on the look-out for the best
available of such an instrument!).

The good news is, I love my Hupfeld and will never part with it.  If
I can build in the missing 'accompaniment' I shall do so, but I am now
acquiring all the Hupfeld and Animatic rolls I can find and would love
anyone who has any, particularly Animatic-S rolls or band instruments
for the model to contact me.
